Essay Development and Writing Guidance

The purpose of a college admissions essay is to give a personal voice to the application and show admissions who you really are. Colleges are looking for students who can draw from their experiences. College in 3-2-1 is here to help you craft an essay that tells the true story of who you are, what makes you unique, and how that will shape you and your future at their university.

Some students end up writing 10-15 essays during their college application process. Avoid spending hours stressing over an essay that doesn’t express who you are. Instead, we’ll work together to create an essay that will boost your application. We start with a self-reflection step to uncover a “gold nugget” from which a student’s  essay theme is created. From there, we guide the student through the multi-phase development process until a final draft is completed.

Show admissions what makes you stand out with a compelling essay.

Scholarship Search and Application Schedule

There are thousands of scholarship opportunities available to help you pay for college, but sorting through them, applying, and even understanding what to look for is difficult and extremely time consuming.

College in 3-2-1 will create a personalized scholarship list, an application schedule, and list the requirements for each scholarship.

While students/families will be responsible for the actual scholarship applications and any required essays, College in 3-2-1 will help you prioritize scholarship opportunities to maximize your efforts. We compile scholarships for you based on dollar amount, best fit, and any known information about the number of people that apply for the scholarships.

According to Debt.org, “Each year, an estimated $46 billion in grants and scholarship money is awarded by the U.S. Department of Education and the nation’s colleges and universities. In addition, about $3.3 billion in gift aid is awarded by private sources, including individuals, foundations, corporations, churches, nonprofit groups, civic societies, veteran’s groups, professional groups, service clubs, unions, chambers of commerce, associations and many other organizations.”

Did you know...

The number of scholarships identified will vary by student, timing of the research, and number of hours of effort. There is no guarantee on actual scholarship results or that scholarship opportunities that have been identified are still available. The most up-to-date information will be used.
